There's an episode of Love Death + Robots that is absolutely a spiritual sequel about a couple of werewolves enlisted in a special unit in the military. So damn cool. When I worked at Sci-Fi Channel (now Syfy), we were pitched a sequel. Dog Soldiers is a suspenseful and believable blending of genres that works because you care about the characters. It smartly starts off feeling like a werewolf take on Predator and winds up feeling like a werewolf take on Night of the Living Dead. The movie wasn't an overnight success by any means. Plot A couple goes camping in the Scottish Highlands. The woman gives the man a silver letter opener as a present; shortly afterward they are killed in their tent by unseen assailants. Meanwhile, a soldier named Cooper runs through a forest in North Wales. He attacks his pursuers, but is overwhelmed and wrestled to the ground. A screenplay for a sequel was written (not by Marshall), the project passed through the hands of directors Andy Armstrong, M.J. Bassett, and Rob Green, but the film - referred to as DOG SOLDIERS:.
